| The
grand opening of Toulà Toronto marks yet another page
in the long and successful history of the Toulà Group.
The original location, Da Alfredo, opened its its doors in 1961
in Treviso, near Venezia, Italy. Situated in one of Italy's
gastronomic centers, it's success was assured, and the following
year, a second restaurant was opened. This time, the building
used was an old restored hayloft in Cortina d'Ampezzo. It was
named El Toulà, after the ocal name for the structure,
and the Toulà Group was born.
Today,
forty years later, the name Toulà is synonymous with
elegance, fine cuisine and service, both in Italy and internationally.
The company has grown to encompass several restaurant locations
world wide, in cities including Rome and Milan, and has also
been involved in various franchising and consulting opportunities
throughout Asia.
The
latest endeavour, in Toronto's Westin Harbour Castle Hotel,
will launch Toulà into the North American market, and
will no doubt be the first step toward further expansion.
Its location, on the edge of lake Ontario, presents a stunning
view of the city and it's surroundings. The rich Italian fabrics,
mirrored in the gold leaf ceiling, will surely provide guests
with the perfect setting to compliment any occasion.
With
a well established reputation for using only the finest of
ingredients, and a style of cuisine rooted in Venetian tradition,
Toulà plans to jump to the top of Toronto's dining
scene.
Of
course, no menu would be complete without a wonderful selection
of wines. General Manager Adriano Vicentini has been acquiring
a substantial collection to compliment any dish. The main
focus of our list has naturally fallen on Italian Reds, from
the regions of Piedmonte and Tuscany. With a cellar consisting
of over three hundreds labels, however, our abundant range
of flavours, from both Old and new World regions, will surely
yield the perfect bottle to satisfy even the most discerning
of palates.
